This is what can be called to begin the year with the right foot. Levy was one of the best pianists Warne had, and the Ballad album, with exactly the same line-up, is one recording I love. Thanks!
Good info about the tour in which this record and the Ballad album were made, first-hand - the drummer James Martin writes: http://www.warnemarsh.info/global_warne-ing.htm

Did anyone else have trouble opening these 5 files? I don't normally have any issues with the files on this blog (and thanks to all the contributors for some wonderful music!); however in this instance, I'm getting an 'unable to open file' message for all 5 parts of the album. I've tried downloading a second time from another of the sources listed under multiload.com, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Davide: I've just opened them with 7z without trouble - please try again!

Davide: Just unzip the 5 parts together in one run with 7z. I made a control dl. and everything works well.
Frasco: thank you for the great link to Warne!

I couldn't open the files with 7z either, but Stuffit opened them without problems.

Thanks for sharing this. Really enjoyable.

Thanks for the suggestions: unfortunately, still no luck. I'm using 7z, unpacking the downloaded files as a single sequence, but I can neither open them nor even 'view' their contents. I downloaded the set a second time from a different one of the cluster of providers. I'll try again tomorrow from work using a different PC. Perhaps it's just some weird non-alignment of the moon and stars. Thanks for verifying, though, that the files are okay.

good luck!

After downloading again at a different computer (at work) the files unpacked without a hitch. Fantastic album - I'm listening to it now as I type. Warne Marsh is one of those that I unfortunately had overlooked pretty much completely until about five years ago. This is great; thanks again for sharing.

Best,

Davide

Hey there! Good to see this one back in circulation!

Hope many will enjoy it and that 2012 proves as subtle a year as Warne's lines suggest :-)

Well, I spoke too soon, I als like davide keep on getting an "Unspecified error" message, and I tried on 5 different computers with 3 different operating systems! Any tips?

moha said...

I've no idea, maybe try to download from different location.

moha said...

the links are downloaded more than 100 times until now...

Problem solved!, I simply renamed the files that had some + signs in some cases so the name/extension was not always the same

thanks again
